RIBBON CUTTING FOR AFFORDABLE  HOUSING IN MONMOUTH COUNTY

THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING ALLIANCE PARTNERED WITH THE ALPERT GROUP TO DEVELOP THIS PROJECT

[Ocean Township, NJ] Next Thursday, April 11th, 2019, the Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) and The Alpert Group will be hosting the Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Cindy Lane Apartments, a 48-unit development that provides affordable housing for families and individuals in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Representatives from the AHA and the Alpert Group, will host special guest Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, Monmouth County Freeholders, Deputy Mayor of Ocean Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, Richard Long, New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) executive staff and other local leaders in this community celebration.

Richman. “Affordable housing is also important to the community’s economic vitality and helps meet the diverse needs of all families as we build a stronger and fairer New Jersey.”

Quick facts about Cindy Lane:

  • Construction for Cindy Lane began in 2018 and was just completed in 2019
  • The AHA developed Cindy Lane in partnership with the Alpert Group using Super Storm Sandy relief funds as well as LIHTC
  • It supports the housing obligation under the Affordable Housing and Fair Share Plan of Ocean Township and would not have proceeded without their contribution of the land and continued support
  • The total cost for the project was $14.9 million
  • $8 million came from funds targeting Sandy Recovery (CDBG) and 4.2 million in Tax credits
  • HMFA provided the balance of the private financing needed
  • The Affordable Housing Alliance is the onsite management agent under the direction of the Albert Group
  • Joe Alpert the principal of the Alpert Group, Ray Smith the President of AHA, Donna Blaze the CEO of AHA, Christopher Siciliano is the mayor of Ocean Township
  • Enterprise is the syndicator, contractor is AJD, architect is Kitchen and Associates, and Monarch was the consultant.
  • The site is currently at 50% occupancy as new residents are moving in daily, but 100% occupancy is expected by the end of May
  • Applications and client selection is made first by random selection and then by income certification.
  • As of today, hundreds of potential candidates have applied for a chance to live in one of these 48 apartments.
