Our new facility is staffed by HUD-certified housing counselors with more than 20 years of experience in navigating complex decisions related to whether to repair, rebuild or relocate.

The HRRC can help residents work through the complex reconstruction process by providing individual counseling, group education and helpful resources. Individual counseling assessments will review and evaluate each client’s ability to move forward with either repairing, rebuilding or relocating based on their individual capacity of committed financial resources and their future sustainability.

Educational seminars and workshops will also be provided to assist with the ongoing need for knowledge about the different aspects of the construction process, financial literacy, the home purchase process, foreclosure intervention and consumer awareness topics including; contractor fraud and legal assistance. Staff will also be available to assist clients with locating monetary or volunteer assistance resources to help fill any funding gaps that may impede their recovery process.

The agency’s goal is to assist clients with making informed decisions about whether it is in their best interest to Replace, Rebuild, or Relocate…

Bayshore Bungalow™

Affordable Housing Alliance Offers Modular Homes to the Recovering Bayshore Communities

The Affordable Housing Alliance has a new initiative: the Bayshore Bungalow Program™. The goal of the program is to find a cost-effective way to rebuild the homes of homeowners whose properties were destroyed as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

This project is a partnership between the Affordable Housing Alliance, Next Step, Rebuilding Together Jersey Shore, and Champion Homes.

Working through the Alliance’s Housing Recovery Resource Center, homeowners will receive comprehensive housing counseling and recovery planning, including an option for homeowners to purchase an affordable modular home to be installed on their existing property. The homes start in the mid $100,000’s and homeowners are eligible for grant subsidies.

The Bayshore Bungalow Program™ will offer four homes designed by Bruce Tolar, an architect with extensive experience rebuilding housing following natural disasters. These two and three bedroom homes will be built by Champion Homes at their plant in central Pennsylvania and delivered to communities here in New Jersey.
